TALK 2040 SESSION 3
23 June 2022
SESSION SPEAKER: Giuseppina Santucci
TOPIC: My Experience at University
These are the principle or most repeated errors from our second session.
Before the next session, try and focus on and master one highlight.

| 1 | I started to have some friendship | I began making friends See Collins Dictionary: To make friends with someone |
| 2 | We had a lot of party | We had many parties See Cambridge English on quantifiers: Much, many, a lot of, lots of |
| 3 | My parents wanted me to study alone | My parents wanted me to be independent |
| 4 | My parents wanted me to start having my responsibility | My parents wanted me to start taking responsibility |

How to make best use of these language highlights
Don’t try and learn them all, as if learning poetry or rules.
First, just make a mental note of them.
Then the next time you speak English, start to use them mindfully.
For example, select one and focus on it exclusively in every conversation until you get it right.
Once you have mastered it, move on to the next.
The point is not to feel overwhelmed. If you master just one from each session, you are already winning.
You can always practice more highlights later, and focus on each until you master them.
(If you are able, you could try and master one grammar and one pronunciation highlight after each session.)
Enjoy!
